Suprisingly good and well made remake of a classic horror film plus produced by Raimi and Campbell.
Check out the suprise in the end of the film.

I have heard a lot of different things about this film, ranging from hard core horror fans who love it to some who thought it was awful. I'm a bit mixed and confused on it right now. I did not like the film at all. Even if you take everything out of it that related anyway to an Evil Dead movie i still didn't like it. However i did not think it was a badly made or badly acted film and i can see why some would enjoy it.
After thinking alot about this film I tried to take everything releated to evil Dead out of it and look at it as just another film and it didn't help the main problems i have with the work against it either way.
(Spoilers Spoilers Spoilers Spoilers SpoilersSpoilers Spoilers Spoilers)
First I hated the look of the deadites, they did in no way look like a evil deadite or a normal demon. Also The words they spoke were just stupid and in no way sounded as if a demon would be uttering them. I would have rather had them say nothing at all then the god awful dialogue they were given.
As far as the acting goes i had no problem with, I thought everyone did a great job. even if the 2 people i liked the most died first.
Yeah the film was gory but in no way does that make a movie good, At times it felt like they just forgot they were making an Evil dead film and then went oh yeah we need to have someone cut something off. Most of the gore effects felt out of place and just added in just to say it had gore.
There was no need to have someone cut off their arm just for them to stand up and the get killed by someone. all they wanted to do was say so does this make you rememeber the original movie? . all it did was make me mad that i wasn't watching the original movie.

Well a remake has to be it's own thing and that's what's successful about this remake, afterall it is as serious as the first movie and less comical than 2 and 3 combined. Afterall a good horror remake is hard to find you know, there can be a gem and sometimes there are a dozen misfires only to tarnish the legacy of the original. So moviefone has made this unique article on how to make a good horror remake which is good advice to the filmmakers out there: blog.moviefone.com/2011/08/18/the-10-essential-rules-to-making-a-good-horror-remake/Do you agree with each of the rules Critterbuster including worst culprits and best examples? and do you think ED remake falls into any of these? On the gore part, do you think it's as bloody as Rob Zombie's Halloween or I Spit on Your Grave 2010?

I saw it the other day and really enjoyed it. It's a lot different from the original though. It was very gory too, probably the bloodiest thing I've seen in awhile.
