Do you think the Critters Franchise should be remade or should they make more sequels? What do you think?

I used to think a remake was fine, but now I don't. I just want more sequels. It's not like they've done everything they could do with the franchise. That's when you do a remake. There's still a few things they can do more with, or explain at least.
They could explain the eggs, or more specifically, how the Crites reproduce. They could explain more about their home planet and if they really need to, they can even go there. They could've done a crapload more with that mutant hyper-growth machine in the fourth film. They could explain what happened to Ug (I and I'm sure a lot of others fans seriously do not like thinking that Counselor Tetra at the end was in fact Ug).
There's just so much more.

I would just prefer more sequels but I would also be up for a remake only if they used Animatronics and used no CGI at all.

I'd only settle for a remake if they bring back the Chiodo Brothers to do animatronics, though some light CGI would be to bad for touching some things up.

It's been a long beloved dream of mine to play the role of Charlie McFadden, I think thats what drew me to the series to begin with. The fact that the joke of a town could end up being the hero and saving their asses. I'd never be able to touch on Don Keith Opper's work, his Charlie is his own. But I've grown up cosplaying him and acting like him, and can do a pretty good Charlie voice. I know we're talking hollywood-remake here where I'd have no chance in hell, but one can dream.
But if a fan film were ever to be made, I'd love the chance to play him. While keeping his story totally faithful to the Critters we know and love, I wrote this about him once, my attempt to give him a backstory in depth: Please do not take or copy without permission!
Charlie McFadden was born and raised in Grovers Bend, Kansas, where he never really had many friends. He grew up mainly seen as an odd-ball with an interest in the paranormal, horror, the occult, and unexplained. Aliens most of all. As a kid, he mainly worked the kinks out of mechanical things, he was really good at fixing almost anything he got his hands on. His strange and withdrawn behavior caused many adults to dislike him. Though he did gain some popularity when he went out for baseball in middle school, and proved himself to be a superb pitcher.
Figuring this to be his calling, Charlie thought he would have a professional career in pitching. This lasted all the way up into his senior year, and rumors flew around that he had even been offered a scholarship. That was, until he started hearing something he presumed to be alien transmissions, which he swore he was getting through the metal fillings in his teeth. This strange claim soon became an obsession for him, and when no one believed him, he began to ease his pain with drinking.
The whiskey robbed him of his spot on the team, and soon most everything else. His parents became ashamed of him, and kicked him out of the house soon thereafter. The few friends Charlie had gained due to his spot on the team then ditched him, as the rest of Grovers Bend often dismissed him as the lonely town drunk, a paranoid delusional freak who now couldn't pitch his way out of a paper bag. Charlie worked odd jobs (primarily as a mechanic) for several years, always seeming to getting fired for showing up late, or drunk on the job. Eventually he got himself arrested for D-U-I and lost his license. Charlie's actions also got him put on probation for six months, and He had to agree to go into alcoholics anonyamous in attempt to get sober, but it only lasted two weeks before he fell off the wagon.
While on probation, Charlie once worked as a mechanic for Jay Brown. After being pleased with his work, Jay offered to give him a part time job, helping around the house and garage as he was very handy with fixing things. Charlie accepted, and even began a friendship with Mr. Brown's son, Brad, who was also interested in the paranormal and sci-fi, but not as much as he was into fireworks and homemade explosives. Brad became Charlie's only friend after awhile.
Without his car, Charlie began riding a cheap bike and continued drinking whiskey, usually at Jake's bar in the bowling alley. Most oftenly until the point of becoming totally drunk and passing out, only to awake in Sheriff Harv's station with a horrible headache from the night before...
