Back in september we lost a very special person, Brian Domonic Muir, He was one of the writers for the first Critters film. He was really good friends with Writer/Director Jeff burr, i recently spoke to Jeff Burr about it and he said brian was a great guy and he was very well liked and that Brian will be greatly missed. R.I.P. Brian Domonic Muir You will be missed.

I was going through some old emails i had and came across one i had from Brian just a few months before he past away. He talked a bit about Critters so i figured i would share that part with everyone on here.. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey Chris,
Thanks for the kind words on 'Critters'. It's nice to know there are still people out there who like the flick.
I'm proud of the film but I have to say I'm not a big fan of the sequels. And as to your question about Don Opper, I'm not Don's biggest fan personally... that's a long story though and has no bearing on his performance in the movie, which I think is fine. His part (including in the sequels) was expanded greatly and in no small part because he's the producer's brother... haha... When I was asked to write an outline for part 2, I ended up writing a couple of different ones which they didn't use (though they ripped off some of the ideas, including that of setting one in the future), but the opening scene I had for one of the sequels started on the bounty hunters' ship and Charlie is cleaning the big guns and accidentally blows his head off! Haha... suffice to say, that did not go over so well with the producers.
Anyway, I've babbled enough. Thanks again for the note!
Hang in there,
Brian -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey everyone, it's Charles Muir again, cousin of Brian Domonic Muir, the fellow who invented the gnarly space hedgehogs known as "Critters" (which, he told me, were strongly influenced by the "Zanti Misfits" in The Outer Limits; pint-size nasties escaped from an alien penal ship tearing up a small mid-Western town? Hm...) Anyway, I've created a lens for him at Squidoo with info and resources on what he's been up to since that movie first sank its teeth and quills in moviegoers a quarter century ago. I hope you'll check it out. www.squidoo.com/BrianDomonicMuirThanks for letting me send out the word and for keeping those malevolent fur balls alive and hungry!
